I have been a nurse for 6 years, specializing in cardiovascular nursing. I also have experience with diabetics, post-surgical care, general nursing and wound care. I have worked in several hospitals as a travel nurse and also have experience in home care.
I got my first nursing degree at Keiser University in Orlando, FL, graduating in 2012. I will graduate with a BSN degree from Western Governor’s University in Spring 2019.
I became a nurse because I had a great passion for helping people, but after years of working in hospitals something became stark to me. While I was really helping people, it was short lived, tucked into a small window of the time they spent in the hospital and the 12 hour chunks in which I was privileged to care for them.
It was simply not enough. I noticed that many patients came back to the hospital, time and after time. They were getting symptom relief, but they were not learning how to really be healthy. Additionally, I realized that most of my patients were being treated for things that could be greatly lessened if not avoided all together by making healthy lifestyle changes. This is something that I can not impart on a person in a 12 hour shift.
So, I took my passion for helping people and my nursing skills and I apply them as a health and wellness coach. Now I don’t have to try to cram a ton of teaching into such a short time span. I get to take the time to really know my clients and help them to reach their health goals.
I would be honored to talk to you about your health goals. I want to know what matters to you, and I want to help you get there. If you are ready to make healthy changes that last a lifetime, I encourage you to reach out to me, tell me about yourself and what you are looking for. Together we can tailor a plan that works for you.
